Looking to save money on your next stack of textbooks or finally snag that novel you’ve been meaning to read? The campus bookstore is hosting its annual Big Sale on Books this week, and students are already lining up to grab deals.
The sale, which runs from Wednesday through Saturday in the Student Union Ballroom, features discounts of up to 70% on everything from general fiction to required course materials. According to the bookstore staff, this year’s sale is bigger than ever, with over 5,000 titles on the tables.
“We know students are always looking for ways to cut costs, so we wanted to make sure this event really delivered,” said Sarah Nguyen, the bookstore manager. “It’s not just textbooks—there are cookbooks, travel guides, and even graphic novels.”
Students who arrive early will have the best luck digging through the bargain bins. In past years, popular titles have sold out within the first two days. The bookstore is also offering a “buy two, get one free” promotion on select paperback fiction.
Sophomore Alex Ramirez was spotted hauling a stack of art history books nearly as tall as his backpack. “I came for one book, and now I’ve got ten,” he laughed. “It feels like a treasure hunt.”
The sale has become something of a tradition on campus, drawing not only students but also faculty, alumni, and local community members. Coffee and snacks will be available at the event, making it as much a social gathering as a shopping spree.
If you’re looking to stock your shelves, lighten the blow of next semester’s textbook bill, or just browse for something fun to read, don’t miss out—the Big Sale on Books only happens once a year.
